Meeting a Raindrop

Last Monday, Jacob,a ten year old boy was feeling sick. He stayed at home. Since it was a rainy day, he spent the morning looking out of the window. All of a sudden, he heard rain splashing and saw a tiny raindrop.

He opened the window and the raindrop jumped onto the window sill. It introduced himself and hopped on Jacob's hand. He was curious and wanted to know how a raindrop is formed.

The raindrop told him that the sun heats the water and it starts to evaporate. When water vapour

rises it meets cooler air. When it cools, it turns into droplets of liquid. Clouds are formed. When they get heavy, rain starts to fall. Raindrops can end up on soft surfaces like umbrellas, clothes or animals. But they can fall on hard surfaces like cars, roads or buildings.

It was soon time for Jacob to go to sleep. He asked the raindrop to grant him one last wish. He asked for a rainbow . After it appeared, Jacob fell asleep and the raindrop went on another adventure.
