Year 2 Busy Bees

We have had a super busy half term in Year 2. We have loved our topic 'Turrets and Tiaras and some fantastic learning has taken place. We have been learning to tell the time and we are still working hard at reading o clock, half past, quarter to and quarter past on an analogue and digital clock. We have been thinking about what qualities make a good

friend and we have written our own friendship recipe. We visited Loughor castle

and found giant footprints. We were a little bit frightened but we

still followed them all the way to the top. We found magic beans

and a letter from the giant. When we returned to school we had

to plant a beanstalk and observe to see what grew.

One of our favourite memories from this half term is having our

parents in school.. We love to share our learning with you and

enjoy making you a part of our busy day.

We have invested a lot of time in our outdoor

area this half term and we are trying to get the

children out as much as we can. The children

really thrive from outdoor learning and have

been developing an abundance of skills such as

exploring capacity and gravity, travelling in a

variety of different ways, following and writing

recipes and developing their ability to work as part of a team. We observed a fantastic activity that involved the children moving gravel in the construction area. It was amazing to watch the children discover the quickest way to move the gravel. I watched personalities unravel as some children took the leadership role and began to give other children jobs.

We are looking forward to another busy half term!
