Steve Backshall

Steve Backshall was born in 21st April 1973 is a English naturalist , explorer writer and television ,best known for bcc tv's deadly 60.His other BCC work includes being part of the expedition teams in expedition with Steve Backshall , Lost land of the tiger, Lost land of the volcano, Deadly dinosurs and lost land of the jaguar.

After leaving Exeter university with a degree in English and theatre studies, Steve studied martial arts in Japan attending his black belt. Oved the following years Steve wrote for the Indonesian Rough Guides and during his travels became conversant in the local language, drank blood with uncontacted tribes, nearly got caught in fatal crossfire in riots

in East Timor, came nose to nose with Komodo dragons and attempted to walk solo across

Irian Jaya.

Armed with an idea for a television series, Steve headed out to Colombia. Whilst living in the jungle he wrangled snakes and ended up in a Columbian Jail (through no fault of his own)! National geographic channel international brought the resultant video and Steve was taken on as adventurer in residence producing filming and presenting adventure and natural history programmes. Steve has circumnavigated the globe time again, venturing into the Sinai desert, completing the Israeli paratroopers selection course, catching anacondas, vipers and cobras. Making the great dives of the world, for a long running series Earthpulse. Steve Backshall fell down a mountain and cracked the side of his spine and ended up in hospital for six weeks I think and Steve went through lots of pain and when he did get out of hospital he did a concert and he came out in crushes. Steve backshall might change the policy from time by updating his information page so all around the world can see it and come to buy some of his animals and Steve's wife and his kids have gone through lots of damage when Steve fell down a mountian and when he got out of hospital his kids ran to him and started crying and Steve carried on with his journey to find some of the missing animals like cobras, bear , bloodhounds ,owls and rattle snakes
