Teeth Experiment by Ellis Kavanagh

ORANGE JUICE

COKE

MILK

WATER

I PUT EGG SHELLS IN EACH LIQUID AND KEPT CHECKING THEM TO SEE WHAT HAPPENED OVER TIME.

The egg shell had

lots of white

bubbles on it, they

formed a layer on

the shell.

The egg shell was

starting to crack

on the edges and

had gone brown.

The milk had kind

of set on the egg shell

and looked a bit like

cream.

There was no change from water.

After doing this experiment it makes sense why my dentist tells us not to have too many fizzy drinks. I don't like fizzy drinks anyway, which my dentist says is good. When we go for meals I order Orange Juice instead of a fizzy drink, this experiment shows that Orange Juice isn't good for my teeth either, I was really shocked. It is because of all the sugar. I found this picture of different drinks and think it is really good to see how much sugar is in drinks and how bad they can be for your teeth. We have to brush our teeth every morning and every night to stop the damage that sugar does. I think I need to drink more water because there was no damage to the egg shell so there would be no damage to my teeth.
