For the challenge we ask that you go on a hunt for blue objects around the home. This week, please model and support your child to compare the different shades of blue that they find. This will support your child when they explore colour mixing next week. We ask that you post on the challenge blog the name of the shade of blue that your child likes the most. We will then compile a graph to find Foundation’s favourite shade of blue.

The children will be baking delicious Blueberry muffins next week and looking closely at the inside and outside of a blueberry, in addition to observing how they change once they have been cooked. In Foundation 2 (Reception) the children will be observing a colour mixing demonstration using water, tissue paper and food colouring. The children will have the opportunity to ask lots of questions as well as predict what will happen next. This will of course be in addition to all of the busy activities that happen each week. Please do look at the Foundation blog for photos and information about the fun learning experiences that are taking place each week.

We would like to remind F1 parents that if you have not yet sent in your child’s PE kit that you do so next week.

Foundation 2 children will be coming home with their ‘Home Study’ books today, we ask that you support your child to complete the phonics and maths activities. If you have any questions about the tasks or how to support your child, please ask to speak to Mrs Turner. Please remember to write a comment in your child’s reading record each time they read, we will then be able to change their books. We would also like to ask that the reading record and reading book be sent into school each day in your child’s wallet.

The Foundation team would like to thank you for your support with encouraging your child to walk in to school from the gate. The children are settling in much quicker now as a result.
