How is my life different from Abasi's?

My life is different from Abasi's because I have running water in my house and I don't get diarrhoea from drinking water. I don't need to walk to a river to get water and the vegetables I eat come from the supermarket. Abasi and his family worry about if they can survive yucky water. They also worry about money to go to school and buy medicine and food.

If I was Abasi's brother I would not have an easy time because the water is not very healthy and the vegetables are not very good quality. I wouldn't want to miss out fun activities at school but I might have to help my family and I couldn't buy medicine for my family and me.

How water can cause problems in a society

Water can cause a problem in some parts of the world especially in poor countries (undeveloped). I am going to write about Africa where Abasi comes from.

1. Health

Clean and safe water is essential to healthy living.

Without clean and safe water, children and adults can get diarrhoea which can be deadly. When children don't wash enough they can get skin diseases like scabies or eye infections.

2. Hunger

If there is not enough water, people cannot grow crops or have meat because animals will die from the lack of water.

3. Education

Water can cause problems with education because people will get sick and children will have to look after their ill parents or siblings. Children will miss class to get water from rivers or lakes.

4. Money

Poverty is a big problem in Africa and one reason is there is not enough clean and accessable water.

Fetching water takes a long time so instead of getting money from jobs or from selling, people spend many hours getting water.

If children don't study at school they can't get better jobs to make more money and their families stay poor.
