An animal can live almost anywhere in the world. There are very small and very big animals like ants and giraffes. There are a lot of varieties of animals like cats and dogs and they also have a lot of breeds too.

Some animals are cats, dogs, monkeys, snakes, insects, fish, birds and many more. Some animals like lions are carnivores, others like cows are herbivores and rats are omnivores. A carnivore is when an animal only eats meat, herbivores are animals that only eat fruits and vegetables and an omnivore is an animal that eats both. Did you know? When a camel eats something it swallows it once then brings it back up to it's mouth, chews it again and then swallows it again!

Animal Habitats

An animal habitat is where it lives and sleeps. Unlike humans they don't get ready-made houses so they have to build it themselves.They can live in many different places like oceans, forests, jungles, human houses and trees. Some animals like snakes change their habitats once in a while like us. Did you know? Snakes live mostly in rainforests.

Different animals have different gestation periods. Like cats and dogs are pregnant from 60 to 70 days.
