In Sharman Class, we have a topic about Microsociety.In Microsociety, a word called Scarcity has come up.Scarcity is when you don't have enough of what you need or want.If we only had Scarcity on Earth, there would be fighting, arguments and all sorts of bad things happening everyday. If you do come across Scarcity, you must use the resources that you have to survive.You must also work as a team to survive in Scarcity.In Scarcity, there is an ability to trade with other teams.Trading is very important as you can give other teams what they need for what your team wants.Think twice before you trade or you could lose significant items that your team needs.Make sure your trade is fair.

The Shape Game

In our first lesson, we played The Shape Game.We were put in groups and each were

given an envelope.The winning team had to have the most points.A circle with a diameter

of 10cm (shown on the right) equals 10 points.A square with a width

and length of 10cm (shown on the left) equals 5 points.Counters -

that come in the envelopes - equals 5 points as well.We had to

draw the square and the circle on a paper, which comes in some of

the envelopes, but we weren't allowed to draw copies of the counters.

We had to use the items that come in the envelopes (paper, a compass

(shown above), a ruler and scissors) but we couldn't look in our trays for the items.Before the time ran out, we had to give it to our teacher to check if we get the points.

Although it didn't turn out that good, at least we knew what they should do in the future and we learnt from our mistakes.

Justenuf Turns Into Notenuf!

In Sharman Class, we read a story about a perfect world named Justenuf.There were just enough toys and playstations for kids to play on, there was just enough food for the families in their world, just enough money to buy items: there was enough of everything.The one that made sure that everything is just enough of, was a smart robot named Abundance. Everyday was a perfect day.

Apart from one.And in that one day, Abundance broke down.Suddenly, everybody was fighting for the food and children were moaning and crying.It was a chaotic disaster!A high rank officer said that the highest rank should get more food, a soldier said they should battle for the food.Our class said they aren't fair as the soldier is good with guns and the officer is the highest rank so they get the most food.We thought that they should share the food altogether and the children take it in turns to use a playstation.

Shargunda - Our New Society Class Name

On our next lesson, our class were back into our groups and we were to think of a name for our society (class).It was harder than we thought.However, we had a few names for runner-up.United Stake Of Sharman, Shartopia, Shartroplica, Starman, Sharguna and EdSharman.When we voted for our name, my group's name won: Shargunda.Then we made our flags and we were going to vote, however there was no time for that.
