Please read this story with your child and then play the Roll-a-Gingerbread Man game found on the other side of the challenge sheet. When your child has finished drawing their Gingerbread Man please provide a range of media so that they can choose how to decorate it. You can support by asking your child how they would like it to look, which colours and textures they want to use. Please send these in by Thursday. If your child makes an interesting comment please write this on the back of their work or post it on the blog.
The Gingerbread Man
Next week the children will of course be baking gingerbread as well as role playing being a Baker. There will be a range of media and materials for the children to explore in addition to a range of cooking spices to smell and identify. In Maths, the children in F1 will be searching for Gingerbread, counting how many we find and trying to match this to the correct numeral. F2 children will be estimating and problem solving using gingerbread men and a range of different sized containers.
A Note: Children in F1 will now be getting fully changed for their PE sessions on a Friday. Please give your child lots of time to practice being independent when getting dressed at home. This will help them to feel more confident when asked to get changed for PE at school.
