Evolution

Life

Charles Darwin is a man, most famous for coming up with the best proved theory of evolution. He found his evidence on the Falkland islands, the Accension islands, the Galapagos islands and the Cape Verde islands, he went to these islands as the biologist on the HMS Beagle. After the expedition he examined his specimens for the rest of his life until he finally published a book called, "The Origin of Species" about how animals change to suit their environment.

Survival of the fittest is where one animal has a slight difference which makes it better siuted to its environment, it then passes this on to it's childeren and that creature passes it on to it's childeren until they are all like that. Fossils can be used as evidence for evolution because they show different creatures to today and other craetures that are similar but slightely different.

Biodiversity means that different creautures live in a certain area. Micro-organisms are creatures without any limbs or senses. They collect nutrition in ways other than eating. Some useful micro-organisms are many types of bacteria which can decompose dead creatures and plants. There is also bacteria in our bodies which can be useful for digesting food.
