The Hobbit by J.R.R Tolkien

In this thrilling book, a small Hobbit named

Bilbo Baggins is unwillingly whisked from his

cosy bed by a band of adventurous dwarves and

the mysterious wizard Gandalf. He then gets

dragged into adventures across the lands of

Middle Earth -a wonderful place full of magic-

trying to reclaim the gold and riches the evil

dragon Smaug has stolen.

The Hobbit is a very funny book filled with

adventures and magic. My favourite scene is when Bilbo finds the ring and riddles with the creature Gollum to get out of the dark caves. This ring allows Bilbo to become invisible and sneak around unseen, fulfilling his task of being the burglar of the party. In the sequel, Lord of the Rings, Bilbo's niece -Frodo Baggins- has his own adventures with this mysterious ring. I'm looking forward to reading that one too.
