Fascinating Gallipoli

Gallipoli was a place in the Ottoman empire which is now called Turkey. The British navy was supposed to reach Constantinople to help the Russians in World War 1. Constantinople is no Istanbul, capital of Turkey. But the Ottomans did not want the British coming through to Constantinople so they stopped them. After that the British had no choice but to fight their way to Constantinople. So there was a huge war between the British troops and the Ottoman soldiers. But those two countries weren't the only countries involved in this horrific battle. All of Britain's colonies helped Britain fight the Ottomans. Countries including India and Canada. This battle happened 100 years ago so to remember what all of the soldiers who experienced all the terrifying scenes of the Battle of Gallipoli we sang some songs that the soldiers sung during the war and in December we are going to get recorded while singing the songs. Two of the songs were written by a Turkish soldier and two were written by a Irish soldier. Somebody played the guitar and somebody else played the piano and the cello. Ali one of the members in 5Blue played the Saz Turkish instrument we were all really impressed with his playing. We all had a really great time and in a few weeks we are going to have another music workshop where we are going to practice the same songs. So when we get recorded we are spot on with the songs.
