3. Because a well is deep, and it shows that Jim's knowledge is big and he knows a lot about it.
4. It means he is using all his knowledge so he knows how to survive.
5. He is cold, and it means breathing fast.
6. He needs food, so he would have to be able to catch something to eat e.g. animals, and he would need a home.
