The largest mammalian carnivore that ever lived on land was the giant short-faced bear.

The sloth bear has the shaggiest fur. The sun bear has the shortest fur so it can keep cool in the hot forests of Southeast Asia. Bears have two layers of fur. A short layer of fur keeps the bear warm. And a long layer keeps water away from the skin and short fur. Did you know Bears Have Lived on Earth for 38 Million Years and there are only 8 species of bears in the world. The Koala bear is not a bear . There are no bears in Australia. Bears live up to 20-35 years. Most bears eat other animals or fruit and nuts, Polar bears eat seals and walruses, Pandas eat bamboo shoots but there digestive system is adapted to meat.
