Is it possible to write a story in 10 words? Why don't you give it a try, e.g. I was sad. Then I found a shiny, gold coin. Write your stories in the comments section. The best one will win a prize!

Life in Year 6

As we grow older, our responsibilities at Westbourne increase. When we plunge into year 6, we are urged to make our work even more outstanding, just like our school. Presentation is "key" says Mrs Bolton. Keeping this in mind, we all wrote a newspaper report about the Titanic, imagining that we were in that era. We explained the events in non-chronological order. Making sure we wrote in past tense was something a lot of us had to keep in mind. We had to write about the crew members waking up all the sleeping passengers and them not worrying as they thought that the ship was unsinkable. After several attempts, our teachers were satisfied at last. Finally we copied our edited reports into our best books. As you can see, life in year 6 is very tiring but definitely rewarding (Mrs Bolton gives us lots of sweets!).

Thursday 2nd March was World Book Day! We all dressed up in different costumes to do with with a certain book. In assembly, each class showed the person with the best outfit and, once they had been shown, the rest of the class showed their outfits. Even the teachers dressed up! Miss Craig looked incredible as a red lobster. As part of the event, each year told a story to another year. World Book Day is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate stories and brooks with each other.

I Want My Mummy!

On Thursday 23rd February, Year 3 went on a fantastic day out to the British museum. It all kicked off with a long coach ride that ended in Central London. As soon as they entered the museum, they headed to the Lower Gallery and took a look at the Rosetta stone, which was covered in fascinating Hieroglyphics. After that, they all walked further down the gallery and saw a Sphinx head (not the real one!). Later that day they visited the Upper Galleries and took a look at some amazing skeletons and a mummified cat. The year 3 trip was amazing. Everyone, including the teachers, had a lovely time and they all wish that they could go back again with their families.
