Exploring shadows activity
21.04.20
A shadow is formed when a object blocks the light. Light travels in straight lines. To make a shadow the object needs to be solid to block the light from passing through. The shadow will be on the opposite side of the object from the light.
I made a tree using kitchen foil. To help my tree stand up I wrapped lots of foil around the bottom to help it balance. This made the bottom bigger and sturdier.
My finished tree. I took it outside in the sunshine.
I put the tree on the ground and traced around the shadow using chalk.
I turned the tree in different ways and then traced around the different shadows it made.
I then went and got other objects to put together and made a castle.
