Science Week!

Thomas Edison was the creator of the light bulb.

He was home schooled because he was always busy day dreaming about inventions he could make. Apart from the light bulb, he also created other things like the electric pen which is now a tattoo pen, a kinetoscope and the phonogram. Thomas was mostly famous for the light bulb. He died at the age of 84 (1847-1931.) We made thinking hats with facts about Thomas Edison on them!

On Wednesday Josh came round

to our class and taught us all about

friction. In this photo, we were testing

what material would be best to break faster on a bike. The material that broke the fastest was rubber.

For science week ,the topic of our projects was the olympics. In year 5 some of us did projects that we entered in to win a competition!

With Josh we did an experiment on cycling. He chose a couple of people to come and cycle and try to make the 5 lights shine. The bike was very tall so we had to use lots of our energy and power to make the light turn on.

What did you do for science week?
