Happy New Year and welcome back! We hope you had a wonderful Christmas holiday.

For our first challenge of the Spring Term we ask that you help your child to learn their home address, as this can be very useful for safety reasons. If they already know this information please talk about any landmarks near to where you live.

Our learning theme for next week is ‘Post a Thank You Letter’. We will be sharing stories about kindness and saying thank you, we will of course be composing thank you letters to thank our families for a lovely Christmas. We will be talking about how letters reach us and sharing stories about Postman Pat.

Our walk to the post box will be taking place next week so please send in any outstanding consent forms or stamped, self-addressed envelopes. If you have not yet done so, please fill in your parental comments on your child’s target sheet and return it to school on Monday as we are writing the individual targets for Spring Term.

This week your child has been using a wide range of materials to make their own medal. On the back we have written the goal they wish to achieve this year. Please keep this medal and award it to them at home when they achieve it. Hopefully this will bring lots of tidy toys and rooms!

*If your child is in Foundation 2 there will be no phonics or maths home study tasks this week. We ask that you continue to practice the Humpty Word wall and get back into the routine of hearing your child read their reading book and word cards little and often.

Thank you for your support.
