RAMADAN


In Ramadan, there are five prayers in the day. Fajr, Dhuhr,

Asr, Maghrib and Isha. They each have rakaat which is when

you go down to the ground. Also there is a pattern which goes

2,4,4,3 and then 4 which is the number of rakaats in each prayer.

During Ramadan, people fast as a way of appreciation to god. This happens from the Fajr which is a prayer in the early morning around 2:45-8:45 for Maghrib at around 8:45. Although if children are incapable to fast the whole way the can fast to whatever time they are capable of.

When we pray we face the Kaaba (the box) in Mecca, Saudi Arabia.

After the 30 days of Ramadan, you have Eid al-Fitr and it is a celebration of the fasting. Traditionaly, children wear new clothes and they gifts and eidia which is money that is given from adults, also people bake or buy mini pastry of dates of nuts called Klecha.
