It has been such a busy week! The children are making us really proud during rehearsals of the Nativity and a great big thank you for helping your children remember their lines and dances.

In phonics this week, we started level 3 phonics and we were able to assess F2 on their knowledge of level 2. The children have made so much progress this term and this is partly due to the fabulous support of yourselves so, thank you. Next week, we will be learning: y, z, zz, qu, ch.

We will be continuing to make 3D models and we will be discussing the Christmas story. We will also continue to make our calendars for the next year and learn to sequence our days of the week and months of the year.

Our Challenge

We will be sending an advent calendar home in your Children's reading bag. Please ask your child to decorate it as a little colour would be lovely!

Please help them read or read to them the following poem:

Santa's beard is very bare.

On his chin he has no hair!

Each day, add a puff of white.

When they are all on, he will come that night!

As you complete the calendars, please ask questions and use vocabulary such as, What number is next?

How many days left till we reach number..?

Add, more, less, subtract, takeaway, altogether, total.

Reminders

Dress rehearsal is on Monday. Please could your child be dressed in their costume when they arrive in the morning and put their uniform in a named bag. They will change into their uniform after the rehersal and, will return with their costume in their bag at the end of the day.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, we just repeat the process!
