Homophones are words

that sound the same

and sometimes spelt the

same but don't mean the

same thing.

For example:

I can see the sea.

Adjectives are describing

words that decribe nouns.

For example:

Apple pie is tasty

Verbs are doing words

or action words to show

what a noun is doing.

For example:

Yesterday, I ran a marathon.

Adverbs tell us how

or when a noun is

doing its verb. For

example:

Yesterday, the old man

shouted at the young-

sters angrily.

 

A noun is a naming word, it is a place a

thing or a feeling. For example:

Bob went to the shops.

A metaphor is a word

or phrase that states

that one noun is a

different noun.

For example:

The sun was a golden

eye.

   

A Simile is a word or phrase that compares two nouns. For example:

the mountains were

as tall as skyscrapers.

Connectives are words

or phrases that join

sentences (or clauses).

For example:

Jake had pizza and

chips for his dinner.

A preposition is in

its name. It tells the

position of something.

For example:

The cat hid under the bed.
