Rosa Parks was a black lady who was born in America and because she was an African American she didn't have the same rights as white Americans. Black people had seperate seats at the back of the bus and if there wasn't enough room at the front of the bus (where the white people sat) they would have to give up there seats and stand up. One day Rosa was sitting on the bus as normal on her way to work and a white person came in and saw that there was no room at the front so he went over to Rosa because she was the closet to the front. She was well aware that she had to move for the man but didn't budge. She didn't even move when the bus driver stopped the bus and told her to move. Soon after the police came and arrested Rosa for breaking the law. She was sent to court and was found guilty. The way she Rosa stood up for black rights other black citizens stood up for black rights to. Instead of taking the bus to work they walked so that the bus driver would loose money and go out of business. It wasn't just black people that didn't go on the bus and protest it was white people to. This lasted for 382 days. Unfortunatly Rosa passed away but not in vain. If she were here now she could see how much of a diffrence she has made to the black community.
