Before you learn about fractions you need to know what the numbers mean.
The bottom number is called the denominator ( de no mi nay ter ) You can remember the denominator by saying it is on de bottom. you always divide by the denominator.
The top number is called the numerator ( Noo mer ray ter ) you always times by the numerator.
Here is a example of a fraction.
First you do 24 divided by 6
24
Then you do 3 times 4
24
Then you do 3 times 4
÷6=4
3
4 = 12
A = 12
