Sir Isaac Newton

Have you ever heard about the amazing man called Sir Isaac Newton? What did he discover? Why does everybody know him around the world? Read on to discover what he did?

Sir Isaac Newton was born on January 4th, 1643. He was born

in a little village called Woolsthorpe in Lincolnshire and his full name was Lawrence Isaac Newton James. Sir Isaac Newton was born early and people thought he would die. When he was young his mother got remarried and his mother did not want him so he went

to live with his grandmother.

Sir Isaac Newton studied at Cambridge University in the year 1667. He went to Trinity College and his job was an inventor, scientist, and a mathematicon. Sir Isaac Newton invented a cat flap because he loved cats so he made a cat flap so his own cats could go in and out of the house. He had 3 cats.

Some people say that he was peavish [grumpy] and very disorganised. He discoverd one thing gravity. Gravity is a force that pushes or pulls objects to the centre of the earth. If there was no gravity every thing would be floting around and in the end you would end up in space!

Sir Isaac Newton was a Member of Parliament and only said one word in Parliament "Would you mind shuting that window". He also invented the reflecting telescope and this made it easier to see into space.

Sir Isaac Newton was knighted by Queen Anne and that's how he became known as Sir. Sadly, Sir Isaac Newton died in the year 1726. He was 84 years old and he was the first man ever to be buried in Westminster Abbey, London.
