Abasi's story is a very upsetting one which troubles a lot of lives in Africa. His experience makes me think how his life is the complete opposite to mine and how he must dream of living in London and other countries that have running water. The story makes me think how privileged but selfish I am.

Abasi must have so many worries buzzing around his head. If I spent my life knowing I have a big chance of getting ill or having diaorrhea every time I drink water, I wouldn't know what to do with myself.

The parents of Abasi must be so worried about all of their 3 childen and that if they fall sick they would have no medicine and so it would take quite a long time to get rid of an illness. Also what particularly struck me was if Abasi's mother was ill, Abasi's sister, Aluna, would have to fetch the water which means she would have to miss school and that can affect her future.

It must feel terrible to have to work fetching water and not being at school knowing that your friends are learning and you are not. Also, what makes matter worse is that water is actually very heavy to carry.

To be Karim must be devastating knowing that his older brother and sister are having fun at school while he is working. Abasi's mother must hate getting up in the mornings knowing she has to do a 4 hour walk. I do very much hope that a well is installed soon.
