St. George's v Roxeth

On Tuesday 19th January St. George's school travelled by minibus to Whitmore High School to play Roxeth. The squad consisted of 11 players spread across all the year six classes (Frankie, John, Santiago, Declan, Thomas, Aston, Patryk, Bobby, Charlie, Luke and Oisin.)

Now onto the match report, St. George's were full of confidence going into the game against Roxeth but Mr Willis warned us that we 'should not be saying that we are going to win because the last time we played them we only beat them 2-0.' This time it was a completely different story; the final score was a much bigger difference than the last time. The score was 12-0 to St. George's. The goal scorers were Oisin, with four goals, Patryk, with a man of the match performance and one goal, Aston with one goal, Bobby, three goals, Thomas, two goals and Charlie with one goal. The assisters were Aston with two, Bobby with three, Santiago with one, Thomas with one and Charlie with four. The three defenders and the goalkeeper got a another clean sheet added to their collections.

Finally, the man of the match in the game was Patryk with a 5 star performance. He contributed extremely well and scored an amazing goal using his weaker left foot. On the whole, St. George's played well in their first league game of the year and hope to continue in this way.
