What is a solar eclipse?

A solar eclipse is when the moon passes over the

sun.

Are the sun and the moon the same size?

No they are not the same size because the

sun is 400 times bigger than the moon. Also

the sun is further away from the Earth so it

looks like it is smaller from the moon because the moon is closer to the Earth than the sun.

MAKE SURE WHEN YOU WATCH THE SOLAR ECLIPSE YOU WEAR SOME PROTECTIVE GLASSES YOU CAN PUT ON

If you do not wear some protective glasses and look at the solar eclpise then you might blind yourself or you might really damage your eyes. So always wear them protective glasses all the time when watching the

solar eclipse.
