Suzie lived in an orphans home for girls and although they treated her well she longed for a proper friend. One day when Suzie was reading an exciting book, one of the illustrations started moving. It was dancing like an elegant swan. Suddenly it said 'Join me!'. Suzie stared at it with the strange words echoing through her head. Rubbing her eyes, Suzie felt a slight pull at her arms and was dragged into the book. She found herself in a dark narrow hall and in the corner was the figure from the illustration. 'Come with me,' cried the girl, enchanting Suzie with her mystical actions.
