The boat finally diminished at around 5:pm. She was officially gone, forever. No ship ever created by humans could withhold the formidable strain she was facing. A blanket of melancholy covered me. What were we going to do? I nervously ordered them to get off the ship, as we were ready to watch her sink to the bottom. We stumbled towards the rotten ruins. A garden of shattering ice surrounded us. I stared at the blue abyss. Was this it?

Icebergs like angel’s wings sprigged with glittering sparks of light. Blue waters moved within broken parts of ice. I was not prepared for this.I had to leave 22 men, marooned on an island , only carrying 5 men along with me. What if someone died while I was gone? I bit my lip. One of the 5 men was scared, but I was trying to be determined to help these people.

The 22 men were not happy to be left behind. To my surprise, they were chanting, “ Let us come, Let us come!” It made my stomach churn. I felt so guilty to leave these poor people on their own. But the only way to save them was to go and find help.
