October - For the third consecutive year, GeorgeStreet Primary have been crowned Newport County EFL Kids Cup Champions afterthe team enjoyed victories against schools from Torfaen, Newport, Blaenau Gwentand Monmouth.  It was wonderful to see our team lift the cup in the finalagain!  They now progress to the regional finals in Swindon early nextyear where they will represent Newport County AFC.  We are very proud asalways!  Well done Dylan, Carl, Wayne, Kobi, Harri, Cole, William andHarri.

October - 40 children competed in this years Torfaen Cross Country running event.  The children had been working hard during their lessons and teams were chosen from year 4,5 and 6.  In a gruelling event, the children performed brilliantly with teams from year 5/6 girls and 5/6 boys progressing to the South East Wales Regional Finals. Special mentions go to Cole who came 1st, Leah Marie who came 2nd and Jake Jenkins who came 5th running a year out of age! Super proud of all of our runners.

October - A fantastic display of rugby saw theteam run out 10 tries to 6 winners over our friends from Padre PioSchool.  It is always lovely to welcome Padre to our school field and theoccasion was once again full of great running rugby and a host of tries forboth sides.  Well done to all involved.

October - It was lovely to welcome BlaenavonHeritage to our school to join us in a game of netball.  A very excitinggame saw great skill, commitment and determination in a friendlyencounter.  The final score was 4 goals to 1 in our favour.  Hugewell done to all the players from both schools.  

November - The Pontypool District Schools RugbyTournament is always a very exciting event!  Huge well done to the teamwho played their hearts out and won every game in the group stage, playing someclassy running rugby.  Great handling skills, speed, awareness andtackling saw us looking like favourites! However, the semi final was a verytight affair and we just missed out on progressing to the final by a latetry.  So very proud of the team who displayed brilliant sportsmanshipthroughout and were an absolute credit to us.

November - Our netball teams were in action atthe Blaenavon Tournament and did fantastic with the B team improving in everymatch and developing their skills brilliantly and our A team remaining unbeatenthroughout the tournament! Fantastic effort from all players who are workingreally hard during after school club.  Once again, good sportsmanship andrespect on show from all the boys and girls involved.  Well done all!
