Fairtrade welsh cakes
Ingridients
1 egg
225 g plain flour
100 g butter
75 g Fairtrade caster sugar
1/4 tsb mixed spice
1/2 tsb baking powder
milk
75 g fairtrade currents or fairtrade chocolate
pinch of salt

Method

First we weighed the flour which was 225g then we sieved the flour so there was no lumps.
Then we added half a tsp of baking powder, a quarter tsp mixed spice, a pinch of salt and then added butter. We used our hands to make the ingridients like breadcrumbs. Next we put the fairtrade caster sugar and fairtrade currants/fairtrade chocolate into the bowl and then we mixed them together. We cracked the egg and beat it and added the egg until it was a dough like mixture. We rolled the mixture to half an inch and then cut the mixture into welsh cake shapes. We cooked the welsh cakes on a griddle pan for 3 minutes. Eat and enjoy.
