ALL ABOUT MOUNTAINS

DOME MOUNTAINS

Dome mountains are made when the magma bubbles up

and pushes the earths crust into a dome shape. Mount

Rushmore in America is made out of a dome mountain.

FOLD MOUNTAINS

The way fold mountains are made is when two of the

tectonic plates crash together and make the crust fold. The

picture of me is making a fold mountain range with a tea towel.

Mount Everest is a fold mountain and is the tallest mountain in

the world.

FAULT BLOCK MOUNTAINS

Fault Block Mountains are made when the cracks in the

crust force the crust up.

EXTINCT VOLCANOES

Extinct volcanoes turn into mountains when the chamber

closes up and stops all the magma coming out. The tallest

Mountain in Wales is Snowdon used to be a volcano. In

Scotland Ben Nevis used to be a volcano too. This is a

Volcano experiment I did at home.
