Each part is unique

because each part has

a different job and

it makes all of

them important.

The center of the

plant produces

nectar for bees

to pick up and they make honey

for us to eat.

The petals bright colours

attract insects and birds.

The petals colour fades when

it has been fertilized.

The stem carries the water up from the roots to help the plant grow.

The roots absorb

the water and it

ankers the plant

into the ground.

Pollen is produced by the

stamens. These are made up of

an anther and a stalk like

filament.

Pollen is carried to other plants by insects and the wind.

Sepals are tough green leaves which protect the flower bud from splitting apart when it opens.

When pollen lands on the

stigma the male cells in

the pollen fertilize the

flower.

The ovary contains egg cells or ovules which turn into seeds when they are fertilized by the pollen
