Anglo-Saxon children had to grow up quickly. By the time they were ten, they were seen as an responsible adult. This wasn't always a good thing, they would have to work hard like any real adult and they would be punished like a adult if they stole or broke the law. Girls would have to work at home, they would be incharge of, housekeeping, weaving cloth, cooking meals, making cheese and brewing ale.
