The Iron Man In Space!

Chapter 1: Way to the Stars

"Bedtime!" called Hogarth's mother.

"Ok mum, can I read The Iron Man a story?" asked Hogarth.

" Alright, but be quick!" was the response from downstairs.

Outside, Hogarth headed for the scrapyard where The Iron Man's home was.He had been here quite often, so although it was dark, he could get to the scrapyard with no issues." Iron Man! I've come to tell you a story. I've chosen one about the big, mysterious space with secrets nobody knows yet. Will you let me in?" shouted Hogarth. The Iron Man's head, as big as a boulder turned and his eyes shone a bright, joyous blue. Creak, went the gate.

" This story's called ' Up to the Moon'" said Hogarth. And so Hogarth and The Iron Man read about crazy aliens, rockets and marvelled at the pictures until Hogarth's father came to tell Hogarth it was getting late. " Ya ought to be in bed by now," Hogarth's father said in his Scottish accent. " See you tomorrow. Sleep well!" whispered Hogarth as he left the metal scrapyard.

Chapter 2: The Iron Man's Idea

"I want to go to the moon," announced The Iron Man the following morning.

"What? Are you out of your mind? It's too dangerous. You simply cannot go. It’s not possible," said Hogarth's father and mother in usion firmly. " What if you get lost? How  will we eat? Who's going to look after our house?"

" I think it sounds like a brilliant, clever  idea. Heading to the Moon  sounded amazing in our interesting story last night," Hogarth replied.

" Wait, I have an idea!" said Hogarth's mother excitedly." How about you and The Iron Man go to the Moon, and we'll stay here. We'll take you two on a course next morning, so you'll be prepared to take-off in a week's time,"

" Sounds like a perfect plan," said The Iron Man and Hogarth with a grin.

Chapter 3: The Plan in Action

"Ready?" asked Hogarth with a nervous expression on his face as he watched the countdown on the board in front of them. 5 - 4 - 3 - 2 - 1 - BLAST OFF! The Iron Man looked so happy that he might fall out of his seat. His eyes were a happy blue and he was thinking of all of the brilliant things he would do on the moon. Of course, he would put down a flag and take a lot of pictures for Hogarth's mother and father.

"Finally! Finally! We're actually going to the Moon!" cried The Iron Man happily. " We're going to the moon, we're going to the moon. I'm gonna put down a flag and we're going to the moon!" sang The Iron Man with a notable look of happiness in  his eyes. CRASH! This was it. “This trip is important to you. Go on, you do the honours, I know how much you wanted to come to the moon.,” said Hogarth with a smile, holding open the door for The Iron Man.

Chapter 4: Alien

As soon as The Iron Man and Hogarth had stepped onto the Moon, they instantly heard sobbing. “Oh Herbert, please come out,” weeped a voice. Who on Earth was Herbert? Who was the person crouching behind the rocks sobbing? Whoever was in distress, whether friend or foe, it was time for Hogarth and The Iron Man to come and save the day! Boldly, Hogarth stepped forward and kicked the stone over. To his surprise, there was an alien there, just like the one in  their storybook.

Hogarth leaped into The Iron Man’s arms, who was looking just as surprised  as he was. The alien stood there, gaping at them, particularly at The Iron Man. “Please don’t eat me!” He whimpered, covering his face with his hands. “Don’t worry, we aren’t going to eat you. Why were you crying? Can we do anything to help?” asked The Iron Man. His eyes were now a suspicious purple.

“Oh, it’s my brother Herbert, he’s stuck under some heavy, unmovable rocks and I can’t get him out. We were playing hide - and - seek, and when I found him, he couldn’t get out of his hiding spot. He’s just over there, under that pile of rocks,”the alien replied, still sobbing and pointing over to a large pile of rocks. And there, indeed, were two little feet sticking out.

Chapter 5: Getting Herbert Out

No matter how hard they tugged, they just couldn’t get Herbert out. “Now what are we going to do? I can’t just leave Herbert here,” cried the alien in despair.

“ I have an idea,” said The Iron Man suddenly. He. Was. A. Genius. The Iron Man, Hogarth and Hoppert ( Apparently, this was the alien’s name) ran around the moon until the moon started moving and pretty soon, the pile of heavy rocks tumbled off Herbert. Hoppert ran over to him and they exchanged hugs.

Chapter 6: Going Back to Planet Earth

“Wait, before you leave our humble planet, The Moon, I would like to give you a special present only us aliens can make. May I present: Our space crystal! This is no ordinary crystal though,” said Hoppert

“ It’s very special! Invented by our very own great - great - great - great  - great - great grandfather and grandmother. We’re very proud of it!”interrupted Herbert with a wide, goofy grin, but Hogarth could see a slight look of pride playing on his lips as well.

“It grants you 12 wishes each only, so use them wisely! Here’s one for The Iron Man, the genius,” continued Hoppert placing a purple crystal in front of him.

“And here’s one for the kind master,” said Herbert with a smile, placing a blue crystal in front of Hogarth. “ All you have to do is press the crystal into your palm and say I wish for ……. . Also, this crystal is made of candy so when you finish all of your wishes, you can suck on it and it will never disappear. You will know when you have used all 12 of your wishes because it will start glowing rainbow colours. We wish you both farewell and a safe journey!”

The Iron Man and Hogarth waved goodbye (and almost forgot their camera with their photos if it hadn’t been for Herbert ). They stepped inside the rocket and zoom! Off they went back to Planet Earth.

                The end……….. ( For now!)
