The frontier centre is a place for school children to go with their schools where they can do various activities. The activities include king swing, abseiling, canoeing, archery and walk the plank. There is also space to play games outdoors during free time. Children usually stay for 3 days.

Children sleep in rooms with 3 other friends The rooms contain 2 normal beds and a bunk bed. There is also a bathroom, which you will need to bring your own toiletries for. You have to bring suitable clothing that you don't mind getting dirty and you are allowed to bring snacks and sweets. All your meals are provided, with a full English breakfast being offered in the morning, sandwiches at lunchtime and hot meal in the evening. Some of the meals we had were curry and meatballs.

My favourite activity was the king swing. We were strapped in with chains and then the swing was pulled back to a height you were happy with. At full height you reached a 90 degree angle. The swing was then released and you swung backwards and forwards at extreme speeds. We abseiled from a tall tower and did canoeing in a lake. Walking the plank involved being guided along a plank by 2 friends whilst being blindfolded. If they didn't guide you correctly you fell into muddy water.
