Book Week Blog

By Nicolas Hart

Book Week is a week when adults encourage kids to read books. Book Week is made fun by having author visits and dress up days, where you dress as your favourite book character.

I really enjoyed the author visit

from Matt Brown, writer of

"Aliens Invaded My Talent Show"

(and two others).

Matt Brown

Matt explained how to make a character name out of the name of a pet and the name of a road. For example, I live in Connaught Road and my Grandma's cat is called Ruby.

Pet: Ruby

Road: Connaught

Full name: Ruby Connaught

Matt also explained the key to making a good book is to magpie (steal) from other books and authors and alter them to make your own story.

He also told us how to make a pickled monster munch

and Malteser sandwich(delish!)

I am not a big fan of "Look Back" mostly because the ending was unexpected and disappointing to me.
