1. Spellings - Number prefixes

2. This week we will be looking at newspaper reports. We will also be looking

at the different features newspapers have.

Headlines - Can you find some good examples of headlines in the news this week?

Do they include a pun or play on words?e.g CHRISTMAS SHOPPERS STOCKING UP

PET BIRDS GO CHEAP COUNCIL SPLASHES OUT ON NEW POOL

Do they use alliteration? WEIRD & WONDERFUL WITCHING COSTUMES

Do they give you a clue for what the story is about?

You can either copy them into your book or cut out examples and stick

them in your books.

3. Maths - Multiplication

In class we have been using two different methods to multiply 2 and 3 digit

numbers by 2 digit numbers e.g 35 x 27 = and 476 x 43 =

We can either use the grid method or

long multiplication method.

GRID METHOD

Remember you need to add a zero at the start

when you are multiplying by the tens
