All about Captain Tom!

• Captain Tom set out to raise £1,000 for the NHS but has raised so far £32,000,000 and is still going up.

• For his 100th birthday he walked 100 laps of his garden.

• Captain Tom is now the Colonel of the Army Foundation College.

• He was presented with his WWII Defence medal, that he had previously lost 1939-1945 (the dates he owned the medal).

• He was also given the annual prestigious Yorkshire Regimental medal.

• He served and fought in India and Burma.

• He has made a duet with Michael Ball which has reached number 1 in the charts.

• He now has a Royal Mail birthday post mark to his name.

• He had received treatment from the NHS for skin cancer and more recently a broken hip.
