Lighthouses!



As a part of our Year 5 topic of Lighthouses, we made model lighthouses in Sharman class last week.

The part that I found easy was using the Pringles crisps tubs as the body for the lighthouse. It was rather easy as you just had to put it down and place red and white paper around it.

Getting the cardboard right for the electronics was quite a challenge because first you had to measure the lightbulbs and then you had to cut it out and place it on top of the Pringles tub.

Top Tips

• when making a lighthouse always use circular objects for the body

• make sure the object is hollow if you want to install a light system

• be creative and think what it could be powered by, e.g green energy source
