The Hedgehog

Hedgehogs, like many animals,can be run over by passing traffic. A recent estimate suggests that in Britain alone, as many as 335,000 hedgehogs are killed on the road network each year.



In Malta, wildlife has been found killed or injured on land and in our seas because of pollution, traffic or dangerous litter left around in the country side.

Nature Trust-FEE Malta has been involved in the rescue and rehabilitation of wildlife since the early 1990s. During the last years it has been raising funds to help increase more traffic signs to avoid the killing of wildlife on the roads.

Let us all be careful to safeguard the wild animals!
