The light was so bright, filtering through the lush green leafy canopy that hung from the sturdy trees. A shaft of light was thrown onto the young deer that lingered, unknowing, by a bush. I fixated on the soon-to-be venison, my arrow poised to drive into it's brain. My heart began to thump against my chest, faster and faster and faster. Suddenly, a bird called out, a strange, high pitched call that I had never heard before.I let my arrow fly without thinking. The deer slumped to the ground,a loud CRACK echoed through the forest. The canopy above my head disappeared.
