THE RED BOX

One day, a girl called Scarlet was sitting on her bed  doing her homework about the ocean. After she had finished, she wanted to start colouring the drawing she had done about all the planets. But she was bored so she wanted to finish a book she was reading (Jack and the Beanstalk). Later on, she saw something appear on her shelf of books. She looked at it closely and it was a red box. She thought she was dreaming so she closed her eyes and pinched herself but the red box still remained on the shelf. So she knew she wasn't dreaming. She decided to just keep reading her book. But she couldn't stop thinking about the red box. She lifted it up and it felt like she was lifting a mouse!

She tried to look inside the red box but she couldn't see anything because it was made of cardboard. She thought of telling her parents but she thought they wouldn't believe her. So she shook it and there was something inside it but she didn't know what. She shook it some more to try and get whatever it was out, but it was stuck. She was really tempted to see what was inside.
