ACTIVE and PASSIVE VOICE
The 'voice' of a verb shows if the action is done by the subject, or whether the subject has the action done to it by someone or something else. The subject is a noun, pronoun or noun phrase which the sentence may be about.
There are 2 voices:
Active: the subject performs the action
Passive: The subject has the action done to it by someone or something else (although the sentence may not always say who or what does the action)
