Sudbury Neighbourhood Centre is an adult day-care centre located in Harrow. The Pupil Chaplains from our school went to visit them earlier today, and have visited them twice before. As I am a Pupil Chaplain, I visited them and asked them what they love about the centre. I think that it is a very joyful place.

The residents of the centre enjoy going there because they make friends, have lots of fun and have company. It also gives their family members (home carers) a break from looking after them. Going to the centre stops them from staring at a television screen all day and becoming bored. Their skills are developed in places such as knitting, which takes place on Thursday mornings.

The centre is multi-cultural since not all of them speak English, but this proves the centre is a place welcoming anyone of any culture. The residents feel they are well looked after and the staff are friendly and caring. The food is excellent, some of them say, whereas others say the entertainment is the best. They can sing together and all have a laugh.

Sudbury Neighbourhood Centre is a welcoming centre that helps the elderly feel like they are part of a social community and are not all alone. It is a great place to spend the day.
