microsociety

microsociety is one big society with little groups and businesses working together.

in our first lesson of this we were looking at the word: SCARCITY

Scarcity means when somebody has a small amount of something. we were looking at when for example: England had a small amount of gold yet a lot of money and if Africa had less money yet a lot of gold. We would have to trade.

what we did is we had to have 10 cm circles and squares which earned us 10 points. counters would earn us 5 points each. we had to ONLY use the resources the big envelope had. we all had different things. Unfortunately, we only had 10 pieces of paper, 1 pencil and 1 counter. instead of cutting i would rip out the squares; we couldn`t make any circles. Mrs Harvey explained we all had different things, so we could trade! we couldn`t really trade because we had the least amount of resources. the only square we gave in was 8.8 cm!! only 0.2 cm away! we forgot to give our counter so we had 0 points.

it was hard but quite fun. i learnt that we should listen and maybe give everyone a different job to get the job done.
