Christmas Time In Britain

On Christmas Day we get provided presents and we have fun playing with family and friends outside in the snow(if it does snow). We have feasts like turkey, baked potatoes and chocolate pudding. We also go into our local Church on Christmas Eve until midnight when its Christmas Day.

At midnight there will be the sound of lots of fireworks! People also like to 'toast' the start of Christmas day. Some people like to go to midnight services, but other prefer to stay at home and let off fireworks and then open their presents under the tree.

Advent is a time of preparing for Jesus' birth. The candle represents Jesus because he is the light of the world each time the candle is lit every week leading to Jesus' birth. The wreath represents God's everlasting love. The presents represents the Wise Men gifts they bought for Jesus.

The true meaning of Christmas is to stay home with your family and friends. It also means being generous and being joyful.
