Dear Children,

I know that you are busy enjoying your weekend. However, I am writing to you to remind you not to neglect your homework.

Remember you have now been given your brand new reading records which also need to be returned by Tuesday. Remember to read, then record the date, book title and pages you have read on that day. Finally in the comments section please try to link this to your Guided Reading lessons. So, for this week 6 Green have been asked to write their own literal question and the full sentence answer for the text that they have read on that day. Therefore each day will have a literal question relating to the text and the answer also.

To help support your learning in English we recommend you read books linked to the genre we are learning about. In this instance legends, here are just a few ideas:

- The Adventures of Robin Hood by Marcia Williams

- Beowulf by Michael Morpurgo

- The King Arthur Trilogy by Rosemary Sutcliff

- Outlaw: The Legend of Robin Hood by Tony Lee and Sam Hart

- Outlaw: The Story of Robin Hood by Michael Morpurgo

- Robin Hood and the Golden Arrow and a World of Other Stories by Geraldine McCaughrean

Happy reading!
