The years 1931-1938


In 1931 , Amy Johnson flew from England to Japan and back . The next year, in 1932 , she made a long journey. She flew England to South Africa and back . In both flights Amy Johnson registered the fastest time ever and broke records . Between 1933 and 1938 she flew many more flights and broke many more records .


The Second World War


The Second World War began in 1939 . During this period, Amy Johnson joined the Royal Air Force . Amy Johnson flew aeroplanes for Britain . Sadly in 1941 , Amy Johnson died as a result of an aeroplane crash near London .


Amy Johnson 's achievements


One of Amy Johnson 's achievements was that she was the first woman pilot in the world . Amy Johnson showed people that a woman was able to fly planes and never give up in hard things. Amy Johnson was not only brave and strong but she was also professional. Amy Johnson broke many records and made many people around the world interested in planes.
