Chickens are birds,female chickens (hens) lay eggs.Chickens have heavy bodies and short wings.They can fly but they can't fly far.The female chickens are called hens and male chickens are called roosters or cockerels.Roosters have bright coloured feathers,a rooster's feathers can be green,brown,red,

black or other type of colours.Hens are white and brown. Females and males have two or one wattles.Wattles are skin that hangs from the chickens throat.

Chickens a comb.A comb is that skin that is on the chickens head.The henscan lay many more than 200 eggs every year.If a hen doesn't meet with a rooster,the hen still makes eggs while if it meets with a rooster the hen can make eggs too.When the hen doesn't meet with a rooster it makes eggs for people to eat.When the hens meet a rooster first,it will make eggs with chicks in them.
